Monday March 4, 2013
Yep, its Monday again. And not just any Monday, its the first Monday of the month. I know I've said it over and over, but I really can't believe its the start of a new month already. Time seems to be speeding up; just as it did for Roland Deschain in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. I'd like to re-read this series; but I have Mile 8, Under The Dome, and 11/22/63 gathering dust on my book shelf. The last Stephen King I read was Full Dark, No Stars; and it gave me a renewed love of short stories.
Uhm, were was I? Oh yes, Mondays, the first Monday of the month, which heralds the first Wednesday, and IWSG. I'm good (polishes nails on chest), I already have my IWSG rant post scheduled. Its a slow blogging month for me; I've signed up for Misha Gericke's Word Master Challenge, RFW Driven to Murder, Stephen Tremp and others National Wormhole Day, Aloha! Mark Koopman's Got Green, Alex Cavanaugh's Top 10 Movies, and Ellie Garratt's Passing Time release tour.
A pretty slow month for a blogger, and I have no blog posts scheduled between these events. I've learned something always comes up though, if you're open to spontaneity It may seem as though I'm falling down on my word of the year "accomplishment," but I'm considering that I sent off a submission package for a partial request on my first novel in the women's fiction series and made progress on the training manual for my day job as accomplishments for February. I have two critiques to accomplish for author friends in March, and I intend to read a novel from one of my favorite published authors (King or Terry Goodkind) just to read something for the joy of reading.
March is one of my favorite months due to the association with the Roman god Mars and all that mayhem surrounding Ceasar, so I'm hoping to get around to writing or completing a short story that I can submit for publication this month next year. This thinking ahead to a theme months or a year in advance takes some getting used to. I'm sure some day I'll get the hang of it if I intend to be published at least twice a year.
Well, this post went on longer than I expected. Thanks for staying with me through my entire March musings. Have a productive Monday.

Looking forward to your IWSG rant!
I'm glad March is here. That means winter is almost over. Hooray!
Time does seem to be flying by, sure many a thing will come up too.
I am sure time is speeding up too! There never seem enough hours to do everything. Awaiting your IWSG rant on Wednesday!
Monday, the beginning, and I'm ready to quit!
Today I just want to walk away and be something / someone else for awhile!
I need to walk, go hiking, and forget the world! Anyone want to join me?
My blogging month is crazy-busy this week and next, but should slow a little after that (I hope). :) My next few months (of life) are going to be very hectic. We're moving, etc. I'm just going to put my head down and try to power through it.
I am not familiar with this group. But then, I am not familiar with most 60's things. Groovy track, though. :)
I'm doing my IWSG post tomorrow, as I'm going into surgery and taking the rest of the week off.
I got your message late last night. I'll have to call you tonight by phone so we can catch up and I can tell you about my medical procedure to laser/blast the kidney stone tomorrow.
I still need to read the latest Dark Tower book, The Wind Through the Keyhole.
My IWSG post will be written Wednesday morning as I seem to be pathologically incapable of doing things ahead of time.
Hi, Donna,
I find that the days go by so quickly, it's hard to believe it's March already. Sounds like you have lots to do this month though you mightn't feel that way now.
Hey,
THANKS for the shout out and IWSG is always fun - as are your musings in general :)
You call that a SLOW blogging month?? :)
I admit, I am anxious to gallop through March and April, because I have a book release coming in May. And also, back at the day job, March is comprised of standardized testing, report cards, parent conferences, and April brings more standardized testing. So, yeah. Let's hear it for days passing quickly ...
Thanks Alex :)
Patrick; my grass is getting greener and I like that too.
Says the busy busy Cat at his Loo :)
Hi Suzanne.
Oh yes Yolanda; I want to join you on that walk. I had to take a mini walk around the block this weekend too. The weather was nice for it at least.
EJ: my boys are expert movers :) Nothing for it by get through. Good luck in the new home.
Well, you are quite young David :)
Looking forward to the post and the call Mike. My thoughts will be with you - and the steady hand of the laser tech.
MJ: I'm usually a late writer too. Funnily enough, I just bought Through the Keyhole. Is it sad to hope my novel is one day in the supermarket check out line?
Hi Joy; yeah, nice to feel caught up :)
Mark: I'll be thinking about that Blue Hawaian for a long time. Almost worth the trip to Hawaii; as if meeting you isn't incentive enough.
LOL Don; yeah, I do :)
Lordy Di; you make my day job seem nearly boring. Kudos to teachers and all they put up with :)
........dhole
Dear Donna,
See you tomorrow! I am trying IWSG!
Best wishes,
Anna

We have already eaten away two months of the year. March is not one of my favourite months, Donna. Its association with exams in India would make me dread it.
I guess my Monday got away from me. Although, I never have any idea what day it is anymore. All I know is get up for school, drive the Monster in, and at 2 go pick her up.
Congratulations on your partial request! That's fantastic! Crossing my fingers it turns into a full.
March is also nice because it opens the season of big epic films in cinemas :)
Love a good rant. Love the Mamas and Papas. Already Wednesday here. Got the longest IWSG post ever scheduled.
