I had a different post in mind for today, but I haven't got the review finished yet.
Anyway; the first challenge of the year is up at Romantic Friday Writers. We are now only posting one Challenge a month, and have upped to word count to 1000 (maximum, you can write less). You do not have to be a member/follower of RFW to write to a prompt. You can write once, or consistently; as often as the mood hits you.
Have fun with this one. I look forward to reading all the entries.

Just once a month now? Twelve pieces should be easy for participants.
I don;t write romance but I could try. It would probably end up being more of a laughable spoof even though I was trying to be serious.
Like Stephen, I don't write romance, but I'd like to stretch myself this year so may give it a go! Can't guarantee it will be any good, mind you. :)
Couldn't help seeing your comment, Stephen. There's a HUGE difference between ROMANCE and ROMANTIC fiction. All RomanticFridayWriters ask is for a little romantic element in any genre - there's not usually a Happily Ever After either, just the opposite most of the time.
I hope you do have a go. Others who don't usually write 'romance' have found a talent they didn't know they had! You could too!

Oh, sorry Donna, I got carried away with the above comment and forgot to say thank you for the post. I've had some positive comments from newbies wanting to give this a go so I hope they don't chicken out. I'll have to do that post about ROMANCE/ROMANTIC. It will help a lot. Most peeps think we're asking for Mills and Boon, lol!
we do love romantic things, Donnzie!
A romantic rhyme, would be sublime or maybe a crime. haha
And will we be seeing your "piece" Alex?
Steve: we love funny :)
Nick: stretching is good.
Denise: no problem partner. Be enthusiastic here, I love it.
Dezzy: I get me inspiration from your version of romantic postings. oooh yeah!
It would be great Pat. Crime, rhymes, and romance. Hmm, what would the Cat come up with :)

Hi Donna
I haven't got any ideas yet but I'm sure something will occur to me. Looking forward to reading them all now that life has calmed down a bit.
Nancy
I'm not sure I've enough time to write romance. Good luck with your challenges, Donna.
Aaaaah this is one hop I ALWAYS want to join but never can. Must be a curse. :-/
What a great challenge! I don't write Romantic Fiction, but I will read some.
A great challenge! Good luck. :)
Hi, Donna,
I have been WAITING for this prompt....
Only ONCE a month now.... Gee I was hoping I would be able to write LOTS more of my novella through prompts every few weeks. But I guess I have to settle for one a month... Frowns...
At least this is a fun prompt and will work nicely with my novella.
I hope ALL is well with you.
*hangs head in shame* I've not submitted for a while. I've been so busy with writing and submitting, and now revising for my agent. But best of luck to all who participate!!
This might be fun. I'll have to check it out.
I've been away for a while but this challenge sounds fun. I will try to come up with something
Hello everyone :) I'm writing my challenge post now, been working on it in the evenings for the last couple days.
