Hey everyone *waves*
I'm having a bit of blogger problems - mostly in visiting in other blogs, but sometimes in getting to my own too. Rebooting both computers doesn't seem to have cured all the problems, so I'm blaming Blogger. Mostly.
I've been absent for one cuz there's all these neat series premiers that have started airing over the last couple weeks; and being out in MY Room with no cable - and having to run an expensive space heater - hasn't inspired me to hang out there in the evenings after work. (Yes Dezzy, I'm totally looking forward to The Walking Dead again.) Now that I have my netbook back I may be better about blogging and watching my shows at the same time. We'll see . .
The other thing is some of the blogs I frequent have stopped allowing me to view a specific post, and I can't comment. I get this big white screen when I click on the post or comment box. I can usually read the blog post but . . Well, its frustrating. And half the time blogger is telling me my certificate of authenticity has expired so I can't even access my own blog. But when I can cruise the Verse, I am reading your posts.
Anyway, in case I'm spotty in showing up, I wanted to leave ya'll with a link to Melissa Sugar's (Have You Heard) blog and hope you can find your way to the contest she's hosting from Jan 29 thru Feb 28. Its a combination pay it forward/blogger support with lots of big prizes for participation (including a Kindle Fire). This contest is in celebration of her attaining 100 followers, and she'd like to support other bloggers in attaining their following milestones. Go show Sugar your support :)
Has anyone outside of Oz (or the UK in general) changed to the new blogger? Is anyone else having problems with accessing comments or accessing links to specific blog posts? I think I'll get my Son to back up my blog, and then try the New Look and see if my problems resolve themselves. Or get worse, as some of my Aussie friends have reported. Changing my g-mail didn't create any new issues, but didn't resolve any for me either.
I'll be catching up as I can. In the mean time, perhaps I'll be catching up on some reading. See ya 'round . .
Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.

Hi, Donna,
I was starting to worry about you. I am glad you are alright. Sorry to hear of all your technical problems... we've all been there and we've all had problems with blogger from time to time.
Still working on BG. will send you revised really soon. I am fine tuning it like mad for the SCBWI conference next week. I can't believe it's coming up so quickly.
I wish you were there to hold my hand... I'll be going solo. Darn. I guess I have to revert back to auto model Michael to smooze my way through it.
IS your email still the same? It said in your post you changed it. Let me know.
Take care and stay warn.... it's a chilly 24 degrees here with a single digit wind chill... Lovely.
I don't seem to be having any problems now that they cleared up the whole "com.au" vs. "com" thing for me (Aussie blogger). It sucks that you are having troubles!! It's so frustrating wasting your time just *trying* to get somewhere & not being able to do what you set out to do! (i.e. leave a comment. heh)
Not that this will mean anything much to me, but what browser do you use? I use Google Chrome without any issues.
So sorry to hear of the computer problems. I know some computer people (Okay, I meant, geeks) but I've used them for my own computer problems so many times, they now charge me double.
Best luck to you. We'll still be here if you suddenly disappear and reappear.
I haven't seen any problems here (UK), apart from the usual occasional lack of responsiveness. I haven't switched to the new interface. Strange. May be worth clearing browser caches and/or trying a completely different browser to see if that's affected too?
Yes, I am a computer geek.
I have problems at work where they use an antiquated version of Internet Explorer, but at home where I use Firefox (and the new version of Blogger), I don't have any issues. I know what your dealing with is frustrating! :)
It is a big pain in the butt since they switched over. But using firefox does solve a lot of issues. Excpet the whole time stamp thing, I'm still going all back to the future on it..haha
Sorry you're having issues! Hopefully not with my blog.
Melissa emailed me about her contest and it sounds really epic in scope.
I've heard a lot of complaints about people not being able to leave comments etc. What's going on? I haven't run into it, but one of my blogger friends says she can't comment on embedded comment form only on the pop up form.
Michael: thank you for your encouragement. No, nothing to worry about, and yes my e-mail is the same. I'm looking forward to reading BG and discovering all your new inspiration. Dude, do I wish I could be there at the conference with you. But I know you will be amazing with your pitch and all the amazing people you will meet. I will be jealous of those who get to meet you in person.
Yeah Trisha, I've used Google Chrome before – just not lately. I should give it a try again. Can't hurt.
Lol, JL. I know the feeling. There are drawbacks to living in a small town.
You're breaking my heart DL :) I hate to update to something new; but I may have to get with the times.
Gotta integrate, huh Pat :) Grrrrrh.
Alex, it does sound epic. I thought of you while I was reading it.
Yeah Karen, I'm thinking its that embedded thing too. Pop-ups are fine, but other comment gadgets are hit and miss. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this thing.
…....dhole
I changed to the new Blogger, then it wouldn't let me go back to the old one. I hope you manage to sort your problems out.
I've had problems losing my email and my blog altogether havuing blocked comments until I reverted back to pop-up window instead of embedded comments. I think Google+ and Blogger interface is having teething torubles. FINGERS CROSSED it's all ok now.
I can sooo empathise...
Hey D, I haven't had any issues with blogger. I still use Google Reader to browse posts.
Browsing through your older posts, have you looked at Open Office? It is a free MS Office-Like clone download, with much of the same functionality of MS Office 2003. I think it's written in Java.

Have you tried using Google Chrome? That's the browser I use, and I have no issues whatsoever with blogger. Google makes both so why would they mess up their own product, right?
Hi Donna ... YES I have been having problems - as Karen outlined.
Michael Offutt - I use Chrome - some blogs are off limits now.
Embedded comments have been a problem since last April when Blogger changed the coding for the template.
I am unable to comment on an embedded comment form.
If I change to IE ... then it used to work - I'd have to use the drop down menu -enter my details URL and name (Sometimes the drop down menu didn't appear).
Now it freezes!!
I must load Firefox and see if that works .. and dust off another computer and see if for whatever reason I can get in that way.
It would be kind if it worked.
NB - the New Interface with the tiered comment available - totally freezes me out.
That sort of summarises the problems I've been having ..
Bloggers have been kind enough to revert to pop up comment boxes as you've got here Donna - and I love them .. as I can move the box up and down and comment appropriately with the text I'm referring to sitting ready to read in the post next to the comment box.
Cheers - Hilary
